As Alma’s people were tilling their lands in Helam, an army of the Lamanites approached them (v. 25). In fright they fled to the city (v. 26). Alma admonished them to remember the Lord and they would be delivered (v. 27). This fits Limhi’s instructions to trust in the Lord. The people cried unto the Lord that he would soften the hearts of the Lamanites (v. 28). This is the same as Limhi’s formula for turning to the Lord with full purpose of heart. That Alma’s people did this is evident in the record. The Lord did soften the hearts of the Lamanites (v. 29).
