With Ammon’s arrival, one of the final steps in the rehabilitation of Limhi’s people occurred. They were converted, entered into a covenant with God, and desired to be baptized; however, there was no one in the land who had authority. Therefore, they did not form a branch of the Church but waited for the Spirit of the Lord to direct them; they demonstrated their willingness to live according to the baptismal covenant that Alma had taught to his people (Mosiah 18:8–10).
