The industrious Nephites now returned, unmolested by the Lamanites, to the City of Lehi-Nephi and to their homes. They quickly began to care for their crops. One of the fruits of their labors was peace; and greatly blessed were they because prosperity and riches go together in that land where peace abides.
This peace, unfortunately, was not long to endure. The Lamanites grew arrogant and grievously oppressed the Nephites. Under their exactions and cruelty the condition of King Limhi's subjects grew continually worse, until, at last, they were little better off than were their ancestors in Egypt before Moses arose and delivered them.
