“Repentance and Faith on the Lord”

Valuable counsel and warning about what to teach the people: stay with the teachings of the living prophets and the scriptures. Doctrines and practices of the Church of Jesus Christ in the second century b.c. consisted of (1) teaching the basics (faith, repentance, redemption in the Lord; see also Mosiah 25:22); (2) being united and loving, with no contention allowed (one faith, one baptism); (3) observing the Sabbath day and expressing gratitude to God daily, including gathering together to worship; and (4) working and sharing one’s substance with others.
