“A disposition contrary to the nature of God wherein ‘the children of men’ are ‘quick to do iniquity’ and ‘slow to do good, … quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their hearts upon the vain things of the world,’ seeking to satisfy the appetites and passions of the mortal mind and body (Alma 46:8; Hel. 12:4). Such persons are described in the Book of Mormon as ‘without God in the world,’ and even ‘enem[ies] to God’” (Largey, Book of Mormon Reference Companion, 178).
