“The Founder of Peace”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Jesus Christ himself is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), the “founder of peace,” the one through whom peace comes. He, as the prophet’s Prophet, has continued and will continue to teach the plan of salvation and reveal that path of peace to those who have ears to hear.

“The Founder of Peace”

All faithful Saints are to be in the image and likeness of their Master: they too are to be founders of peace. Melchizedek and Abraham are classic scriptural examples. The youthful Abraham, being himself a follower of righteousness, sought to become a “prince of peace” (Abraham 1:2). Melchizedek, an obvious type of Christ, established peace in Salem and thereby became known as a prince of peace“ (see Alma 13:18; JST, Genesis 14:33).”
