From these episodes in the Book of Mormon we are renewed in our conviction that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings us the light of hope in the darkness of bondage—whether that bondage be discouragement, uncorrected sinfulness, or rebelliousness and pride. Through modern-day scriptures, we receive confirmation that the Lord has again restored to the earth the blessings of the vision of prophets, seers, and revelators, just as in ages past. When we ponder the written word of God and listen to the inspired pronouncements of His chosen servants, we show our love for God and His servants. We then find ourselves on the strait and narrow path where rich blessings wait in store, the greatest being eternal life.
