Zeniff does not name Noah as the son upon whom he conferred the kingdom, although this son’s identity is clarified in the next verse. Zeniff assumes that his readers understand that it would have been his oldest son. This verse makes it clear, however, that he considered the transfer of power to be his final official act and consequently terminates his record.
Text: At this point, a chapter break occurs in the 1830 and modern editions. However, as Chapter 11 makes plain, the change that occasions the chapter break is more than the succession of one king by another. It is also the end of the inserted text and the beginning of a new abridgment by Mormon.
