2. One must be born again to both “see” and “enter” the kingdom of God. A large segment of Christianity believes that being born again consists in receiving the sacraments of the church, while another segment feels that being born again is to have a personal spiritual experience with the Lord. Truth takes a road between them both. Joseph Smith expressed it thus: “Being born again, comes by the Spirit of God through ordinances” (Teachings, p. 162). That is, both ordinances and spiritual experiences are requisite for the change described in scripture as the new birth.
