King Benjamin reminds us that when we remember and apply the principles of the gospel we will have a desire to live a Christlike life. We will live peaceably with one another. We will bless our children so that they will not go hungry or transgress the laws of God or quarrel one with another. We will teach our children to walk in truth and soberness (i.e., being serious minded as to the things of the Lord) and to serve and love one another. The following questions of conscience for us arise from this: Do we impart to our children, our grandchildren, our students, or anyone for whom we have responsibility, clear instructions about maintaining the standards of Zion and serving one another? Do we use our leadership to supplant contention with peace, enmity with love, evil with goodness?
