“Standing Steadfastly in the Faith”
To be steadfast is to be fixed, firm, or unwavering. Stead comes from an Old English word meaning “place,” as in homestead. It is where we sink our roots and make our home. Thus to be steadfast in the faith is to be constant and consistent in living by faith. No word in the scriptures better describes spiritual maturity than does steadfast.
