These two simple verses (Mosiah 4:9–10) contain an appropriate credo for all to follow. They define the character and quality of faith; they identify the steps that lead to forgiveness and peace. Above all, they transform concept and principle into action: “if you believe all these things see that ye do them” (verse 10). What could be a more suitable covenant motto to use in speeches, lessons, and family home evenings than the formula presented by King Benjamin on the temple grounds in Zarahemla that day: believe and do.
