Notice that the Atonement of the Savior is retroactive. Once Jesus had accepted the calling in the spirit world of agreeing to provide for an Atonement, it went into effect immediately although the crucifixion would not come until the meridian of time. Based on this principle, the sins of believers were forgiven from Adam on down.
