After telling Benjamin many particulars about the coming Messiah, the angel reveals the Messiah’s name: Jesus Christ. Also, Benjamin learns that Jesus’s mother will be called Mary. Compare this to Nephi’s vision, in which he glimpsed the mother and child but was not told the name of either (1 Nephi 11). Elsewhere in the Book of Mormon, we learn that God provides truth “line upon line, precept upon precept,” as the people demonstrate readiness. (See also Isaiah 28.)
