So much does Mosiah endear himself to the hearts and minds of the people of Zarahemla that he is appointed king over the united population. As the righteous unifier of nations, he is responsible for blending together the two streams of peoples—Nephites and Mulekites—into one people under God. Mosiah’s son and successor, Benjamin, carries on his father’s righteous leadership and becomes one of the greatest prophet-rulers in the Book of Mormon.
