Enos mentioned that in the course of his days, he "saw wars between the Nephites and Lamanites" (Enos 1:24). Enos then proceeded to say that, "I began to be old, and an hundred and seventy and nine years had passed away" (Enos 1:25). Chronologically speaking, this might imply that wars had been happening for part, if not all, of those 179 years.
