“I Shall Meet You Before the Pleasing Bar of God”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
It is worthy of note that the four persons who contribute the most as writers in the Book of Mormon-Nephi, Jacob, Mormon, and Moroni-all certify that one’s acceptance or rejection of that which they have written by the power of the Spirit will be a crucial issue at the judgment bar of God. “And if they [his words in the Book of Mormon] are not the words of Christ,” Nephi challenged, “judge ye-for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day; and you and I shall stand face to face before his bar; and ye shall know that I have been commanded of him to write these things, notwithstanding my weakness” (2 Nephi 33:11; see also Mormon 3:18-22; Moroni 10:27).
