Jacob asks the Israelites of the last days if they are going to reject all of the evidence which God has provided to make it easy for them to recognize and accept the gospel. He plainly asks them if they are going to blindly reject the words of the prophets, especially as to what they had to say about Christ. He also asks them if they are going to reject "the good words" of Christ himself, and the divine manifestations of the power of God, the gift of the Holy Ghost and deliberately quench the Holy Spirit. If they do, then they will be making a mockery of the great plan of redemption which was specifically designed to save them.
