“Must Surely Come to Pass”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Jacob, always the mighty preacher and teacher of righteousness, herein fulfills his promise to his brethren that he would prophesy concerning the House of Israel. This is his prophecy: That all the things Zenos foretold, where, in the parable of the "tame olive-tree" he likened Israel to such a tree, "must surely come to pass." Many of the things of which he spoke have already happened. It is by that same spirit, the spirit of prophecy, that we see and recognize and understand the truths foretold in Zenos' allegory. It will not be difficult in these comments, to grasp, easily, wherein many of Zenos' prophecies have been fulfilled. The others, as Jacob says, "Must surely come to pass."
