The master complained that only part of this third transplant had brought forth good fruit and now those branches had withered away also. Once more the master lamented that all his trees had become corrupted and there was no good fruit coming from any of his vineyard. The trees were therefore of no worth to him and should be destroyed, which deeply grieved him. The master asked his servant what more could have been done to make the vineyard productive. In fact, he wondered who or what had corrupted his vineyard.
