“Hid the Natural Branches of the Tame Olive Tree”
Groups of Israel- like the Lehites, the Mulekites, and the ten tribes-were scattered to different parts of the earth; much of Israel, such as the ten tribes, remains unknown or “lost” to the rest of the world (1 Nephi 22:3-4.) The Lehites and Mulekites were “hid” from the knowledge of those in the Old World, while the ten tribes were and are “lost” as to their own identity as Israelites.
