Jacob then appealed directly to his "beloved brethren" who would read these writings in the next few hundred years. He urged them to be reconciled to God through the Atonement of Christ so that they could partake of the powers of the resurrection which is in Christ. They could then come forth after Christ as the first fruits of the resurrection. Later in Helaman 14:25, we shall read of Samuel the Lamanite prophesying that the Saints who had believed on Christ before his coming in the flesh would be resurrected with Christ and minister to the Saints then living upon the earth. In 3 Nephi 23:9-11, it is verified that which Jacob and Samuel the Lamanite promised the people actually did come to pass.
