To the end that they might obtain a fuller knowledge of his glory, they searched the Scriptures to find all the prophets had written concerning him. There they found much to establish, beyond any doubt, the hope in Christ which they cherished. The knowledge they thus obtained, together with the revelations they constantly received and the spirit of prophecy that was in them, raised their faith to such a pitch of reality that they did "command in the name of Jesus and the very trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea."
