Jacob continues to explain his personal pain in being required to be so bold on a subject that he finds emotionally and spiritually distressing. In Jacob's state of righteousness (Jacob being sufficiently righteous to have had a vision of the Savior: 2 Nephi 11:3) the contrast between the goodness of God and the sins he will discuss is tremendous - a gap that Jacob more than knows, it is a gulf that he feels.
