Building on the theme he has introduced for the Gentiles, that of the acceptance of the Messiah, he now brings his own people and the Jews into that same necessity. The difference in approach is that for his people and the Jews this comes as an exhortation to accept Christ. For the Gentiles it was an imperative for any form of salvation.
