Twice in the Book of Mormon, Nephi has asserted that salvation will come to the Jews by the Gentiles as taught in Isaiah 49:22–23. He quotes that passage himself (1 Ne. 21:22–23) and instructs Jacob to use it as the basis for his sermon (2 Ne. 6:4–7). Without quoting Isaiah here, Nephi again expounds the theme of how the Gentiles will be saviors of the Jews, especially that the coming forth of his people’s words will be the means by which the Gentiles will participate in the theological gathering of Israel. Those words will bring the gospel to the Jews, both of the Old World and the New.
