The Gentiles are also given the opportunity to become the covenant people of the Lord, as many as will repent will be adopted into the house of Israel (v. 2). “As many as receive this Gospel shall be called after [Abraham’s] name, and shall be accounted [Abraham’s] seed” (Abraham 2:10). The Gentiles—the cultural Gentiles will carry the Book of Mormon to the remnant of Nephi’s seed (v. 3). Again, the “cultural Gentiles” are the Latter-day Saints, the house of Israel who were scattered among the Gentiles but have been gathered out or adopted from among them, but “who are identified with the Gentiles” (D&C 109:60).
