Preston Nibley, who was Church historian, suggests as a date “the week following the vision of the Three Witnesses. This would be the last week of June or the first week of July, 1829.” Nephi explains that the witnesses’ testimony would certify the words of those who spoke from the dust. The Lord always intended that a testimony of the Book of Mormon would be a testimony of righteous people, not tangible objects. It is a book for faith.
