Nephi has told us (v. 10) that the sealed part of the Book will come forth in the due time of the Lord, and that then the entire story of the world will be revealed. Here he adds some notable particulars. (1) The words of the book "which were sealed shall be read upon the housetops." An evident allusion to the radio, by means of which, in our day, the last days, the Gospel in word and song is proclaimed all around the world. (2) "They shall be read by the power of Christ." Compare the D. and C. 88:5-13, where we are told that the light of Christ is the light of the sun, and the power thereof, by which it was made; that this light also is in the moon and the stars, and the earth: "which light proceedeth forth from the immensity of space. The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things: which is the law by which all things are governed; even the power of God who sitteth upon his throne, who is in the bosom of eternity, who is in the midst of all things."
It is a question whether this ubiquitous force, this omnipresent power of Christ, this cosmic light, manifested in the flashing lightnings and rolling thunders of Sinai, in the remarkable phenomenon that was a cloud at day and a flame at night, and which rested on the mercy seat in the Tabernacle and, later, in the Temple, was not the same mysterious forces which we now know as electricity, or atomic.
