Who are they who have slumbered?

Thomas R. Valletta

To slumber or sleep is a “metaphor for death (1 Cor. 15:6)” (McConkie, Gospel Symbolism, 272) and refers to “the Jaredites and Nephites [who] have slumbered in the dust, or have died and their bodies have returned to the dust” (Parry et al., Understanding Isaiah, 266).
