“Wherefore Ye Must Bow Down Before Him and Worship Him with All Your Might, Mind, and Strength, and Your Whole Soul”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

We go to our meetinghouses each week to worship, but what do we mean by “worship”? If we define worship as honor, respect, revere, adore, glorify, and venerate—who is it that we worship? We would all agree that we worship our Heavenly Father, but do we worship anyone else? Verse 29 pointedly teaches that Christ is the Holy One of Israel and that you “must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, and strength, and your whole soul,” and if you do that, you will not be cast out but have life everlasting in him (that is clearly taught also in John 5:23 and 3 Nephi 11:17).
