“After They Had Been Bitten by the Poisonous Serpents”
This incident, described briefly in Numbers 21, was destined as a type, an actual historical event which pointed in symbolic fashion to a yet more significant reality in the future—the future crucifixion of Christ (see 1 Nephi 17:41; Alma 33:19-20; Helaman 8:14-15; John 3:14-15).
