Neither Babylon nor Rome have any unique distinction upon the claim of having persecuted the Jews. The Jews would be persecuted as the scapegoat driven into the wilderness, among virtually all nations. It remained, however, for the twentieth century—a day of self-proclaimed enlightenment—for man’s inhumanity of man to descend to the dark valleys of a hellish Holocaust.
