Nephi declares “because of the spirit which is in me,” or through revelation, that those who are carried away from Babylon will be returned. However, his reason for prophesying their return is not just that the Jews will return from Babylon, but because his people are also dispersed and require a restoration to place and position. The implication of Nephi’s prophecy concerning the return from Babylon is that his people will also have a remnant saved from total destruction when their prophesied future becomes a reality.
