At the time when a prophecy is fulfilled, it is understood perfectly, and the time is made known by the fulfillment. Nephi here enunciates a principle recognized by Bible students, viz., that it is the fulfilment of a prophecy that is the evidence of its divine inspiration and origin. Were this not so, every reader of future generations would, undoubtedly, be deprived of the strongest possible evidence of the divine inspiration of the Word of God. (Comp. Is. 42-26; 43:9)
