Comparison: While the Book of Mormon reads “I will bring the Assyrian in my land,” the KJV reads “I will break the Assyrian in my land.” It better fits the context of destroying the Assyrians. Perhaps Oliver Cowdery misheard the word. This is not an italicized word in the KJV and does not appear to be an intended change.
