The duality of meanings noted in the Messianic passages of 2 Nephi 21 thus continues. It is typical of Isaiah’s prophetic technique to refer to one remnant’s immediate return, yet simultaneously foretell a more complete and final return of a remnant to be reunited with the house of Jacob near the time of the Messiah’s triumphal return.
