What is the significance in these verses of Isaiah having named his son Shear-jashub?

Thomas R. Valletta

“Shear-jashub, who was named prophetically (Hebrew, ‘a remnant shall return’; Hosea 1:6–9), was a son of Isaiah and the prophetess, and the elder brother of Maher-shalal-hash-baz. The Lord commanded Isaiah to take Shear-jashub with him to meet King Ahaz at the upper pool because the boy was to become a living symbol to the Jews ([Isaiah] 8:18) and a reminder to the Israelites that a remnant would return to their land and their God” (Parry et al., Understanding Isaiah, 71).
