The Hebrew word from which “saw” is translated in the King James edition is khazah, which means “envisioned.” Thus the inference is that Isaiah received the word (or message from the Lord) through a vision. (See footnote 2b for Isaiah 2:1 in the LDS edition of the Bible.)
