“They Shall Return to God”
People do not return directly to the presence of God at death (as Ecclesiastes 12:7 and Alma 40:11 might seem to imply) but go into the world of spirits, there to await the resurrection, at which time they prepare to see God face to face. (See commentary on Alma 40:11.)
