“They Shall Be a Scourge Unto Thy Seed”
When the Nephites strayed front the paths of righteousness the Lamanites would be granted victory over them. Thus by the hand of the Lamanites the Lord chastened the Nephites, causing them to return to him. As the story of the Book of Mormon concludes, the Lamanites are granted total victory over the Nephites, who were fully given up to wickedness.
