Such expressions are common to those given up to wickedness. Typically, everyone and everything except themselves are supposedly responsible for their difficulties. In fact, though, the announcement of the heavens is that all accountable souls are agents unto themselves (D&C 58:28), and experience shows that most of our problems are of our own making.
