What does it mean to be “strict in the plain road”?

Thomas R. Valletta

“Gospel covenants are to be lived with exactness and honor. It is not for man to dictate the terms of salvation. Too many have been too willing to rewrite the terms of eternal covenants into which they have entered. It has been observed that to almost live the commandments is to almost receive the promised blessings” (McConkie and Millet, Doctrinal Commentary, 1:220).

Jesus taught, “And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you” (3 Nephi 18:20).
