“Lehi had scarcely been laid away when Nephi was again the object of the wrath of his elder brothers and the sons of Ishmael (4:13). This was because of the admonitions of the Lord which he had cited to them. Many of his sayings to them, as well as those of his father, were written upon the Large Plates. Nephi says that he wrote the things of his soul upon ‘these,’ meaning the Small Plates of Nephi (4:15)” (Sperry, Book of Mormon Compendium, 152).
