The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16). Because of Lehi’s righteousness, because of his prayers and labors, which would continue even on the other side of the veil, the promise was granted to the seed of Laman and Lemuel that in generations far distant even their seed would return to the fold and enjoy the fulness of gospel blessings. The power of a righteous man to bless his family and to labor in their behalf is not limited to mortality, nor is it limited to the generation in which the man lived.
