We have no account of the blessings given by father Lehi to his children. Without a doubt they were marvelously instructive and prophetic. That part of the blessing given to his youngest son, Joseph, which contains prophecy important to our day, is contained in the preceding chapter.
The present verses affirm for us the right, even the responsibility, of a righteous father to formally bless and instruct his children. The nature of the blessings granted to each was predicated upon their worthiness, yet we note that Lehi, like his fellow patriarchs in the Old World, blessed all his children- the worthy and the unworthy alike.
