Lehi does not carry his hypothetical scenario any further. Eden did not remain unchanged. Adam and Eve did not remain childless nor without opposition. Change occurred according to “the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.” Understanding this gives us strength to accept the conditions of mortality as best for us, despite the very real suffering it also brings.
