In these verses Lehi demonstrates that he had a complete understanding of the true meaning of the Atonement. When we reach Alma, chapter 34, we will discuss the sermon by Amulek which is the most profound sermon on the genius of the Atonement in all of the four standard works of the Church. Apparently Lehi understood this doctrine just as well as Amulek.
