Thou art redeemed. Not because of the afflictions suffered, but, "because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer." It is the righteousness of the Redeemer that is the foundation of the redemption of man, and Lehi repeats this again and again. (See vv. 6, 8, 26, 28) A slave, who is bought and set free, is redeemed.
