Having sought for and received a knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom, Nephi was as an oasis of wisdom and inspired counsel in the arid desert of his brothers’ rebellion (see 1 Nephi 1:1; 1 Nephi 10:17-19; 1 Nephi 18:3; 2 Nephi 4:25).
